A compassionate space to be heard, understood and supported

I am a registered member of BACP and provide a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore what you’re experiencing at your own pace.

You may be experiencing grief or bereavement, anxiety, stress, low mood, the effects of trauma, emotional overwhelm or a period of change that has left you feeling uncertain about what comes next. Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Together, we can explore your experiences, develop a greater understanding of yourself and consider ways to feel more grounded, build resilience and move towards positive change.

Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and offered through secure online video or telephone counselling, allowing you to access support from wherever you feel most comfortable.

About

Hello, my name is Candace, the counsellor behind Brighter Path Counselling.

I offer a warm, supportive, and confidential online and telephone counselling for adults across the UK.

I believe that counselling should be a collaborative process. You are the expert in your own life, while my role is to walk alongside you, offering a safe space to explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings without judgement.

My training is rooted in pluralistic counselling, which means that rather than following one fixed approach, we work together to consider what may be most helpful for you. I also draw on person-centred, integrative and trauma-informed approaches where appropriate.

I support adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including grief and bereavement, anxiety, stress, low mood, trauma, relationship difficulties and periods of change or feeling stuck.

Most importantly, I want you to feel heard, respected and comfortable being yourself. Counselling isn’t about having all the answers straight away. It’s about having a space where you can begin to make sense of things and discover your own way forward.

You don’t have to walk the path alone.

A little about me

My path into counselling has been shaped by personal experiences of loss, resilience, and growth. After losing my father in 2012, I began studying Philosophy and Psychology with The Open University in 2013.

During this time, I also faced significant health challenges. After completing my degree and continuing further psychology studies, I began my counselling training in 2018. Throughout my training, I experienced further bereavements within my family and further life changes. These experiences deepened my understanding of grief, trauma, and the importance of compassionate support.

My journey has strengthened my belief that even through life’s most difficult experiences, it is possible to find a way forward.

Today I feel privileged to support others in their own journeys towards healing and understanding.

Values

The name Brighter Path Counselling reflects my belief that even in the most difficult moments, there is always the possibility of finding a way forward. Life can bring experiences that feel overwhelming, confusing, or painful, and at times it may feel as though the path ahead is unclear. Through counselling, I hope to offer a supportive and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain understanding, and gradually find a path that feels brighter and more hopeful for you.
