Hello, my name is Candace, the counsellor behind Brighter Path Counselling. I offer a warm, supportive, and confidential space where you can talk openly about the challenges you’re facing. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and having someone to listen without judgement can make a meaningful difference.
My aim is to help you explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace, supporting you to find clarity, resilience, and a way forward.
About
My counselling approach is compassionate, respectful, and centred around your individual needs. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change when given the right support.
In our sessions, we work together to explore your experiences, understand patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing, and develop ways to move forward in a healthier and more balanced way.
I strive to create a calm and safe environment where you feel heard, valued, and understood.
A little about me
My path into counselling has been shaped by personal experiences of loss, resilience, and growth. After losing my father in 2012, I began studying Philosophy and Psychology with The Open University in 2013.
During this time, I also faced significant health challenges. After completing my degree and continuing further psychology studies, I began my counselling training in 2018. Throughout my training, I experienced further bereavements within my family and further life changes. These experiences deepened my understanding of grief, trauma, and the importance of compassionate support.
My journey has strengthened my belief that even through life’s most difficult experiences, it is possible to find a way forward.
Today I feel privileged to support others in their own journeys towards healing and understanding.
Values
The name Brighter Path Counselling reflects my belief that even in the most difficult moments, there is always the possibility of finding a way forward. Life can bring experiences that feel overwhelming, confusing, or painful, and at times it may feel as though the path ahead is unclear. Through counselling, I hope to offer a supportive and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain understanding, and gradually find a path that feels brighter and more hopeful for you.
